Marvel Exec On When ‘Hawkeye’ & ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ Take Place

Marvel producer Trinh Tran discussed when Hawkeye and Spider-Man: No Way Home take place on the MCU timeline.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has two more projects to drop before they round out the year: Disney Plus’ Hawkeye and the theatrically release SpiderMan: No Way Home. The series will wrap up on December 22, just a few days after the Spider-Man threequel hits cinemas, so there’s a chance that there will be some cross-pollination between the two projects. Both projects also take place in New York, with Hawkeye definitively set around Christmas. From what we’ve seen of Spidey, the film takes place across multiple seasons, including Winter, as the Sanctum Sanctorum has been spotted with snow.

It’s unclear when either project takes place on the MCU timeline, which is why Hawkeye producer Trin Tran was asked that very same question by The Direct. In typical Marvel fashion, Tran remained coy and said fans wouldn’t have to wait longer to know the answers.

“I can say that Hawkeye is after Endgame. But I do not want to spoil where it falls within the space of the other film. I think you will just have to wait and see and find out soon. It’s not that long right?”

It’s likely that both projects will take place chronologically, meaning Hawkeye will take place first, and Spidey will swing in after. Then again, Hawkeye could literally end with a Spider-Man cameo, considering both projects take place in New York, near wintertime.

Here is the synopsis for Hawkeye:

“Former Avenger Clint Barton has a seemingly simple mission: get back to his family for Christmas. Possible? Maybe with the help of Kate Bishop, a 22-year-old archer with dreams of becoming a Super Hero. The two are forced to work together when a presence from Barton’s past threatens to derail far more than the festive spirit.”

Hawkeye stars Jeremy Renner, Hailee Steinfeld, Vera Farmiga, Fra Fee, Tony Dalton, Brian d’Arcy James, and Alaqua Cox. Florence Pugh is expected to return in her Black Widow role.

Hawkeye is set to premiere with two episodes on November 24, exclusively on Disney Plus. Stay tuned for all the latest news surrounding the potential future of Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin and Daredevil. You can also subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
