‘Daredevil’ Star Vincent D’Onofrio Hopes To Take On Tom Holland’s Spider-Man

Daredevil star Vincent D’Onofrio still hopes to face off with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man.

Kingpin has beefed with a lot of Marvel heroes, including Daredevil and Spider-Man. While Vincent D’Onofrio went toe to toe with Charlie Cox’s Daredevil in the series of the same name, fans never got to see Kingpin go head to head with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man.

Rumors over the last year have suggested that Charlie Cox will reprise his role as Matt Murdock/Daredevil in the upcoming Spider-Man: No Way Home. While it’s unknown if there’s truth to those rumors, Murdock formally joining the MCU would open the door for Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin to battle Tom Holland’s Spidey.

In a recent chat with Jake’s Takes, Vincent D’Onofrio was asked if there’s validity to the rumors that suggest he’ll be popping up in the Hawkeye series. D’Onofrio denied those rumors but continued by discussing which villains in the MCU he’d like to take on.

“It would definitely have to be Spider-Man one day, I’m hoping. We’ll see if they ask me to do it. Kingpin lived in a world of Punisher, Daredevil, and Spider-Man, so that would be the one.”

It’s unknown if Vincent D’Onofrio will pop up in Hawkeye but the wait for the Disney Plus series grows shorter as each day passes. It would definitely be interesting to see both D’Onofrio and Cox return to the MCU, this time formally. Who knows? D’Onofrio might even get the chance to take on Tom Holland’s Spidey.

Here is the synopsis for Tom Holland’s Spider-Man: No Way Home:

“For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero is umasked and no longer able to separate his normal life from the high-stakes of being a Super Hero. When he asks for help from Doctor Strange the stakes become even more dangerous, forcing him to discover what it truly means to be Spider-Man.”

Directed by Jon Watts from a script written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, Spider-Man: No Way Home stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Tony Revolori, Martin Starr, J.B. Smoove, Marisa Tomei, Jon Favreau, Benedict Wong, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Alfred Molina.

Spider-Man: No Way Home will hit theaters on December 17, 2021. Stay tuned for all the latest news surrounding the film, as well as what’s going on in Marvel Studios’ Multiverse, Daredevil, and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
