Every Celebrity Picture I Look At Right Now Features This One Pair of Flat Shoes

Loafers might not sound like the most exciting footwear choice, however over the past week I have noticed that they are not only the most popular shoe this winter, but they’re becoming a solid red carpet choice. Maybe it’s all that time out of heels, but the likes of Little Simz and Dakota Johnson are swapping stilettos for loafers. When it comes to the style, there are two camps here. Either celebrities are opting for a really chunky track sole, which helps to toughen up dainty or overly pretty looks. I’m also spotting lots of patent pairs with chain detailing across the foot. Of course you can’t talk about loafers without mentioning Gucci, and the likes of Dakota Johnson have been wearing the horsebit loafers in brown leather.

Keep scrolling for the celebrity outfits we love below, and shop our favourite pairs.

Style Notes: We love how the splits in Little Simz’s printed trousers really accentuate her black socks and monochrome loafers. They really are becoming the unlikely red carpet shoe of 2021.

Style Notes: Dakota Johnson is usually wearing a pair of Gucci loafers, and we love how this dark green style looks with her camel suit.

Style Notes: Amalie Gassmann gives her red skirt suit an edge with a pair of chunky black loafers.

Style Notes: Here we have another pair of loafers and socks on the red carpet—Leah Harvey wears her patent pair with a puff-sleeve black leather dress.

Style Notes: Haniq Best wears a classic autumn look, but it’s her chain detail loafers that we’re really into.

Style Notes: There is a lot going on in Amelia Hamlin’s outfit with all that volume, texture and colour, however her black sturdy loafers really do ground the look.

Style Notes: Elsa Hosk swaps heels for a chunky pair of loafers, to add an edge to her elegant white suit.

Style Notes: You can barely see the loafers under Bella’s oversized trousers, but trust us they are there.

Style Notes: This classic brown Gucci loafers look amazing with the yellow and the feathers.
