Obi-Wan Kenobi star O’Shea Jackson Jr. responded to the lack of a trailer debuting on Disney Plus Day.
Yesterday, Disney Plus Day was held, celebrating the second anniversary of the streaming service. Throughout the day, a few new titles from Marvel Studios were officially announced, as well as some exciting teases as to what’s coming to the service in the near future. However, many fans were particularly excited about the prospect of a new teaser for Obi-Wan Kenobi, the highly-anticipated event series. It turns out that fans got a short sneak peek featuring short soundbites from Ewan McGregor and company, with some new concept art.
Many fans were disappointed at the lack of a trailer for Obi-Wan Kenobi, and that disappointment was also coming from one of the show’s stars, O’Shea Jackson Jr. The actor, whose role remains unknown at this time, tweeted his disappointment:
At this time, it is unknown when we will finally get a chance to see the first official footage from Obi-Wan Kenobi. However, Star Wars Celebration will return in May 2022, so perhaps we will get a tease from there if the show were to drop towards the second half of next year. Either way, O’Shea Jackson Jr. is certainly not alone in wanting to see a trailer sooner rather than later.
Directed by Deborah Chow from Joby Harold’s scripts, Obi-Wan Kenobi stars Ewan McGregor, Hayden Christensen, Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, and Benny Safdie.
Obi-Wan Kenobi is expected to hit Disney Plus in 2022. Stay tuned for all the latest news on the upcoming Star Wars series and O’Shea Jackson Jr’s role, and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
