The Star Wars: Rogue Squadron movie from Patty Jenkins is no longer shooting in 2022.
Star Wars: Rogue Squadron was expected to begin production next year, with director Patty Jenkins and writer Matthew Robinson working to get the project to the big screen in Christmas 2023. However, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Rogue Squadron has now been delayed indefinitely.
The Rogue Squadron delay was caused by scheduling conflicts, with The Hollywood Reporter saying the Star Wars project won’t be able to start filming until Patty Jenkins fulfills her prior commitments. Jenkins is currently attached to direct Wonder Woman 3 for Warner Bros. and a Cleopatra movie for Paramount Pictures.
Rogue Squadron was part of a slew of Star Wars projects that were announced during Disney’s Investor Day this past December. Details on the movie are being kept under lock and key, but Patty Jenkins recently teased that it will tell a new story, honoring various Star Wars books and games.
