Kit Harington opened up about a potential Game of Thrones reunion with his fellow Marvel co-star Emilia Clarke.
Before Kit Harington and Emilia Clarke joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe, they were forlorn lovers and enemies in Game of Thrones. Though they only spent a handful of time together in the show’s final seasons, the entire series had been building up to the two seeing each other. With Game of Thrones all wrapped up, all eyes are set on the duo potentially sharing the screen in a Marvel project.
Kit Harington made his Marvel debut in Eternals, which opens today. Harington stars as Dane Whitman, the man who eventually becomes The Black Knight. Emilia Clarke, on the other hand, will be debuting in the Disney Plus series Secret Invasion. Seeing as how vast the Marvel Cinematic Universe has become, it’s entirely likely that both of their characters could never meet, as the franchise has now begun to dabble in the cosmos and multiverse. But then again, a Game of Thrones reunion would be an absolute highlight for the MCU.
When asked by The Hollywood Reporter if he and Emilia Clarke were ready to potentially meet up in a Marvel film, Kit Harington revealed that he wasn’t ready, but that he would be open to it.
“No, we haven’t. That would slightly blow my mind, I think, because me and Emilia had a lot together. So if we ended up crossing paths in a different franchise, I think we’d have a good old giggle about that.”
Here is the synopsis for Chloe Zhao’s Eternals:
“The story takes place across two time periods. One storyline is set in the past when they operated as a formidable team and a close family unit. The second storyline is in the present, when the group has fractured and split apart, content to live among humans, hiding in plain sight. The prevailing threat of the Deviants, which once again threatens the existence of mankind, means the Eternals need to put their differences aside and regroup.”
Chloe Zhao directed Eternals from a script she co-wrote with Patrick Burleigh, Kaz Firpo, and Ryan Firpo. The cast of the Marvel Studios project includes Gemma Chan as Sersi, Richard Madden as Ikaris, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Barry Keoghan as Druig, Don Lee as Gilgamesh, Kit Harington as Dane Whitman, Salma Hayek as Ajak, and Angelina Jolie as Thena.
Eternals is now in cinemas. Stay tuned for all the latest news surrounding the film and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
