Last month we announced an exciting new global partnership with adidas, kicking off with our first-ever console-inspired sneaker collaboration to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Xbox. Today we’re excited to continue that partnership by unveiling the second sneaker – The Xbox 360 Forum Mid – the first-ever Xbox-themed sneaker available to purchase for fans in the U.S. and Canada.
With a plethora of visual throwbacks and Easter eggs that fans will love, the Xbox 360 Forum Mid is truly designed as a love letter to one of the most iconic consoles in gaming history. Drawing inspiration from the original Xbox 360 console’s colors — white, silver, and green — the incredible details highlighted throughout the sneaker represent a playful celebration and nod to the vibrant history of Xbox.
On the strap, you’ll note the Xbox 360 disc tray, along with the classic 360-era Xbox button design on the shoe’s outer side and the console’s air vents on the inner side. Additionally, the heel features references to the Xbox 360’s distinctive removable hard drive and memory unit slots. There are a myriad of details to discover and enjoy, including some hidden secrets for fans.
The limited release of adidas Originals by Xbox – Xbox 360 Forum Mid, complete with four additional pairs of laces in red, yellow, green, and blue (representing the face buttons of the Xbox 360 controller), will be available to purchase in the U.S. and Canada on November 4 at 7:00 a.m. PT via adidas.com.
Additionally, as part of our “Always Played In. Never Played Out.” program, which celebrates three distinct eras of Xbox history, Xbox and adidas fans can jump back in time with In Queue, a virtual reveal experience to relive the golden era of gaming: the launch of the Xbox 360. It won’t be around for long, so check out www.neverplayedout.net for a nostalgia trip and chance to win exclusive prizes.
Follow @Xbox on Twitter for details of the latest sneaker drops and be sure to join us for the 20th anniversary of Xbox and Halo broadcast on November 15, where we’ll share the official details of the exclusive third and final sneaker inspired by Xbox Series X – available for fans to purchase globally.
