The Honest Trailer for What If…? has been released and wow, does it have some roasts for Marvel Studios’ first animated series.
One of the most exciting things to be on the lookout for in the pop culture realm of the world is Honest Trailers. The series, created by Screen Junkies, does a fantastic job of lightly pointing out the error, woes, and inconsistencies of some of our favorite movies and TV shows. The light jabbing is always taken in jest and it has almost become a badge of honor for creatives to have their projects roasted by the writing team at Screen Junkies.
With Marvel Studios’ What If…? all wrapped up with its first season, it’s no surprise that the series is the latest victim of Honest Trailers. The trailer takes a jab at the series’ core premise and how the show slowly morphed into a rehash of a typical Avengers Assemble storyline.
The trailer also points out the humor in the series that some might find offputting and awkward. All in all, it’s a solid entry in the larger Honest Trailers saga and perfectly roasts the somewhat inconsistent Marvel series. A second season of What If…? is in the works, along with potential live-action spin-offs, so it’s almost certain that Honest Trailer will revisit the franchise once it debuts.
Here is the synopsis for Marvel Studios’ What If…?:
“Exploring pivotal moments from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and turning them on their head, leading the audience into uncharted territory.”
The animated series features the voices of Josh Brolin, Natalie Portman, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson, Jeremy Renner, Paul Rudd, Mark Ruffalo, Chadwick Boseman, Jeffrey Wright, Hayley Atwell, and other major stars from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
