‘Eternals’ Star Kit Harington Unsure About His MCU Future As Black Knight

Eternals actor Kit Harington is uncertain about his future as Black Knight in the MCU.

Marvel Studios’ upcoming film Eternals is set to introduce one of the more obscure groups of characters from the comics. One of the newest characters will be Dane Whitman, AKA Black Knight. Game of Thrones star Kit Harington brings the character to life in Chloe Zhao’s film.

Given that most Marvel Studios actors sign on for a multiple-film contract, many expect to see Kit Harington return as Black Knight in a future film, perhaps an Eternals sequel. However, it appears that the former Jon Snow actor has no idea about where his future in the MCU will go, he tells Variety:

“Nothing is certain. That’s the first thing you learn in this industry. There is no certainty. To go in with any kind of feeling that something’s certain is setting yourself up for failure. I genuinely do go by the rule that this is the project, this is what I’m doing. I take it with the information that there’s a there’s a path and a future that could happen. But I don’t assume that that future is going to happen, because I think that’s foolish.”

Although Kit Harington is playing Dane Whitman in Eternals, don’t expect to see him suit up as Black Knight just yet. After all, a few weeks ago it was confirmed that we won’t be seeing him in the armor. Chloe Zhao has interest in returning to direct a sequel, but we’ll see how the MCU continues the story of Black Knight.

Here is the synopsis for Eternals:

“The story takes place across two time periods. One storyline is set in the past when they operated as a formidable team and a close family unit. The second storyline is in the present, when the group has fractured and split apart, content to live among humans, hiding in plain sight. The prevailing threat of the Deviants, which once again threatens the existence of mankind, means the Eternals need to put their differences aside and regroup.”

Chloe Zhao directed Eternals from a script she co-wrote with Patrick Burleigh, Kaz Firpo, and Ryan Firpo. The cast of the Marvel Studios project includes Gemma Chan as Sersi, Richard Madden as Ikaris, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Barry Keoghan as Druig, Don Lee as Gilgamesh, Kit Harington as Dane Whitman, Salma Hayek as Ajak, and Angelina Jolie as Thena.

Eternals will hit theaters on November 5, 2021. Stay tuned for all the latest news on the upcoming film and Kit Harington’s MCU future as Black Knight, and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
