Dan Levy denied a rumor that he was cast in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
Production on Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is underway in London, and last month, a photo of Paul Rudd and Dan Levy led to some fans speculating that the Emmy Award-winning actor from Schitt’s Creek will have a role in the upcoming sequel. Well, it turns out that is not the case.
During a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Dan Levy was asked about the viral photo he had with Paul Rudd, confirming that it was just a dinner that they both enjoyed together, debunking any involvement with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania:
“That was the last time I was in London. Grateful to have a photo with Paul Rudd. I had dinner with him and his lovely family. The downside of having dinner with Paul Rudd is that the Internet, in this case, went wild with a conversation that included “Paul Rudd looks so much younger than Dany Levy,” “They must be best friends,” and Dan is in talks to be in Ant-Man . And the answer is: I wish I was best friends with him, not true, not in Ant-Man, and he also looks much younger than me. So it’s kinda a lose-lose, other than the fact that you are having dinner with Dan Levy with Paul Rudd, which is a win-win.”
Dan Levy is a very charismatic and talented actor with a wonderful knack for comedy. Even though it appears he won’t be in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, his comedic sensibilities could blend well with the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s sense of humor in a future project. In fact, he would slide in well with the DC Extended Universe and any other franchise as well given his talents.
Directed by Peyton Reed from a script written by John Loveness, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania stars Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas, Michelle Pfeiffer, Kathryn Newton and Jonathan Majors.
Ant-Man and the Wasp were last seen in Avengers: Endgame. Here is the official plot synopsis for the Marvel Studios film:
The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios’ grand conclusion to twenty-two films, “Avengers: Endgame.”
Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Avengers: Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, Benedict Wong, Jon Favreau, Bradley Cooper, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Josh Brolin.
Avengers: Endgame is available on Digital HD, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, DVD, and streaming on Disney Plus, while Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will hit theaters on July 28, 2023.
