We’ ve just launched Path of Exile: Scourge which contains everything a classic ARPG represents: terrifying demons, imminent danger, cool items, and powerful ways to build your characters.
As you arrive in Wraeclast, a hooded figure appears from seemingly nowhere, terrified and asking for your help. You are encouraged to embed a rusty-looking device in your body known as the Blood Crucible. When you slay enemies, the Crucible fills with their Blood. When a threshold is met, you can activate the Blood Crucible which will temporarily thrust you into the parallel reality where some form of apocalyptic event is taking place.
Corruption permeates this reality, harming you if you linger too long. Place items in the Blood Crucible to harness this corruption. Once you’ ve absorbed enough corruption, you can transform your items to receive powerful upgrades. But be warned, corruption will unpredictably give your items one upside and one downside. Don’ t worry though, you may put them back in the Crucible up to three times and try again for more powerful effects!
If you want to turn back time, summon giant tornadoes or turn your weapons into glowing blades of energy, then we’ ve got a treat for you. Alongside the launch of the Scourge expansion, we’ re introducing heaps of exciting new skills in order to help you decimate the ravenous hordes! Plus, if you like playing with your friends, we’ ve added six special skills that allow you to link up and help each other out.
That’ s not all! We’ ve given the iconic Path of Exile skill tree a makeover in Scourge. Everything will still feel familiar, but now a person have even more ways to build cool new characters using Passive Skill Masteries. Become the best weapon wielder in Wraeclast or master the arcane arts; the choice is yours and the possibilities are endless.
Killing demons and making awesome characters is hard work, so we’ ve made a new tonne of improvements to Guilds! Now you can hang out with your squad in your own Guild Hideouts and haul together your piles of items in the newly-added Guild versions of popular stash tabs.
There’ s a whole lot more to be able to discover in the Scourge expansion like improved loot stacking plus exciting new endgame content.
