New promo art from Ms. Marvel teases shows Kamala Khan utilizing her powers.
Disney Plus is set to have a flurry of new content next year, including the long-awaited Ms. Marvel series. The series is focused on Kamala Khan, a teenager obsessed with Captain Marvel, who gains the power of shape-shifting. The character debuted in 2014 and has since become a rising star in the Marvel Comics world. Kamala Khan was most recently seen as one of the main playable characters in Marvel’s Avengers.
With her debut closer than ever, Pyramid International has released a brand new promotional image that sees Kamala Khan showing off her mighty powers.
What’s interesting is how Marvel Studios is expanding upon Kamala Khan’s powers. While it’s clear that she still has her shape-shifting powers, the promotional art depicts the character’s morphing body parts with a cosmic purple, crystal-like hue. This change in the presentation should make the action sequences in the Disney Plus series a visual treat.
While Ms. Marvel was originally set to release this year on Disney Plus, the show has been pushed back to next year. After debuting in her own series, Kamala Khan will join Carol Danvers and Monica Rambeau for The Marvels, the direct sequel to Captain Marvel.
Created by editors Sana Amanat and Stephen Wacker, writer G. Willow Wilson, and artists Adrian Alphona and Jamie McKelvie, Kamala Khan made her debut in Captain Marvel #14 before becoming the lead character in a solo comic series. Khan became the company’s first Muslim character to headline her own comic book run and the first issue of the series won the 2015 Hugo Award for Best Graphic Story.
The series is expected to debut on Disney Plus in 2022. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding Iman Vellani’s Kamala Khan and the future of the MCU on the big screen and small screen, and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
