DC FanDome 2021 received over 66 million global views, tripling its 2020 count.
Last year, DC FanDome debuted to over 22 million views. It was an all-day event from day to night and was received positively by fans all over the world. This year, DC FanDome took a condensed approach and streamlined the event so that it could be binged over the course of four hours. The result? 66 million global views!
DC FanDome 2021 brought the goods immediately, giving fans brand new and first looks at the likes of The Flash, Black Adam, and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. The event ended with a brand new trailer for The Batman, which was unanimously praised across the board.
The conference was available to stream in over 220 countries and in 12 languages. 50 official streams existed throughout various social media platforms, and dozens of other websites rebroadcasted the global event. WarnerMedia reports that the event was the most trending event on Twitter in the U.S for 8 hours and was in Top 50 events for 53 countries.
Ann Sarnoff, Chair and CEO of WarnerMedia Studios and Networks released a statement in which she discussed the success of this year’s event.
“With triple the fan traffic of last year, DC FanDome 2021 exceeded all of our expectations. We continue to innovate across the company in service of our fans, and I cannot overstate the creativity and hard work that went into this highly curated, global digital event. We gave fans what they wanted – the very best of all things DC – and their engagement and response have been fantastic. We’re as excited as they are to deliver on all the great content DC FanDome highlighted.”
The next film coming from DC is The Batman. The plot of Robert Pattinson’s The Batman is being kept under lock and key, but we know the film will follow Robert Pattinson as a younger version of Bruce Wayne, chronicling Batman during his second year as the Dark Knight of Gotham City. The film will also show off the hero using his skills as a detective more than what we’ve seen before in previous versions of the hero. It is also expected to be the first installment in a new trilogy of films with Pattinson.
Directed by Matt Reeves, The Batman stars Robert Pattinson as the titular hero, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as the Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Peter Sarsgaard as Gil Colson, Jayme Lawson as Bella Reál, with Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, and Colin Farrell as the Penguin.
The Batman will hit theaters on March 4, 2022. Stay tuned for all the latest news on the upcoming Robert Pattinson film and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
