An unexpected, major star makes a cameo appearance in Marvel Studios’ Eternals.
Spoilers ahead for Marvel Studios’ Eternals.
Eternals is set to be one of the most expansive films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as it introduces the titular cosmic beings who have been sent to Earth to protect us from the Deviants, their evil counterparts. The film features a star-studded cast which includes Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Gemma Chan, Kumail Nanjiani, and Kit Harrington. If those heavyweights weren’t enough, it looks like there’s another major cast member who has been kept a secret this entire time.
Variety’s Matt Donnelly, who was at the premiere for Eternals, revealed that Marvel’s latest project features a cameo from Harry Styles.
Harry Styles, previously a member of the now-defunct British boy band One Direction, is currently one of the world’s most popular pop stars as a solo artist. He made his acting debut in Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk – an appearance that was widely praised. And now, he’s made his Marvel debut.
Harry appears in the film as Eros, Thanos’ brother. Hardcore comic book heads will know Eros is best known as Starfox. It is unclear how major of a role Styles has in the Chloe Zhao-directed film, which hits cinemas early next month. Styles was previously rumored to star in the film so it’s interesting to see the rumor turn into reality.
Here is the synopsis for Eternals:
“The story takes place across two time periods. One storyline is set in the past when they operated as a formidable team and a close family unit. The second storyline is in the present, when the group has fractured and split apart, content to live among humans, hiding in plain sight. The prevailing threat of the Deviants, which once again threatens the existence of mankind, means the Eternals need to put their differences aside and regroup.”
Chloe Zhao directed Eternals from a script she co-wrote with Patrick Burleigh, Kaz Firpo, and Ryan Firpo. The cast of the Marvel Studios project includes Gemma Chan as Sersi, Richard Madden as Ikaris, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Barry Keoghan as Druig, Don Lee as Gilgamesh, Kit Harington as Dane Whitman, Salma Hayek as Ajak, and Angelina Jolie as Thena.
Eternals will hit theaters on November 5, 2021. Stay tuned for all the latest news on the upcoming MCU film and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
