A new featurette for Halloween Kills puts the spotlight on the three generations of the series warrior women.
Back in 2018, the reboot/sequel to the 1978 slasher classic, Halloween wowed fans and critics everywhere. The film would go on to earn over $255M worldwide on a tiny $10M budget and currently holds a 79% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. A sequel, eventually titled Halloween Kills, was quickly put into development before it was decided to shoot parts two and three back to back. After a year-long delay due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the film will finally see the light of day later this month.
A big part of the marketing of the first film was putting a focus on the return of Lourie Strode, played by Jamie Lee Curtis. Halloween Kills is following suit by putting the focus on Laurie, her daughter, and granddaughter. The latest featurette for the film puts the focus on all three women, who Jamie Lee Curtis describes as warriors:
Here is the plot synopsis for Halloween Kills:
Minutes after Laurie Strode, her daughter Karen, and granddaughter Allyson left masked monster Michael Myers caged and burning in Laurie’s basement, Laurie is rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, believing she finally killed her lifelong tormentor. But when Michael manages to free himself from Laurie’s trap, his ritual bloodbath resumes. As Laurie fights her pain and prepares to defend herself against him, she inspires all of Haddonfield to rise up against their unstoppable monster. The Strode women join a group of other survivors of Michael’s first rampage who decide to take matters into their own hands, forming a vigilante mob that sets out to hunt Michael down, once and for all. Evil dies tonight.
Halloween Kills is currently scheduled to be released on October 15th, 2021. Stay tuned for all the latest news on the future of the franchise and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original content.
