I Just Tried on 6 Autumn Staples From the Coolest Up-and-Coming Brand

I’m always on the lookout for new fashion brands, particularly ones that manage to combine elevated design with a sustainable approach to style. So you can imagine my excitement when I stumbled across Aligne, a lesser-known label that merges impeccable aesthetics and affordable price points with greater transparency around how its clothes are made, from the packaging and materials it uses to its transportation and manufacturing processes. That’s not something you see every day.

Having browsed the brand’s new-in section, I can also confirm that it’s is a gold mine of autumn essentials. Think slouchy tailored trousers, knitted vests, colour-pop coats and ruffled blouses—essentially a ready-made capsule for the cooler months. I got a chance to try on some of the key pieces from the new collection and hand-picked six items that particularly captured my attention.

So what’s my verdict? I love it all, but the leather skirt and the knitted vest are probably at the top of my wish list. I’ve been looking for a leather midi skirt for months now, and this piece comes in a chic wrap style that is begging to be worn with knee-high boots and a slouchy roll neck. I can also confirm that the knitted grey vest looks just as good by itself with a chain necklace as it does over a midi dress or a shirt (a multi-tasking wonder if I ever saw one).

Intrigued? You should be. Scroll down to see my outfits and shop Aligne’s key autumn pieces.

Style Notes: A pair of slouchy trousers are the perfect staple for the autumn months. Just add a slouchy knit and gold jewellery.

Style Notes: Add personality to your outerwear game this season with a colour-pop coat. This salmon shade will do the job nicely.

Style Notes: A blouse with a ruffled collar is never a bad idea. It will look good with everything from jeans to leather skirts.

Style Notes: When the mercury drops, a leather skirt will not only keep you warm but will also look incredibly chic.

Style Notes: Gilets are set to be this season’s layering hero, and this shearling number certainly makes a statement.
