Marvel Studios Producer Says There Are 31 Projects In Development

Marvel Studios Producer Victoria Alonso confirmed that there are 31 projects in development.

Talk about being productive. Marvel Studios’ output has been unmatched by rivals for years. Even during the COVID-19 pandemic, the studio managed to pump out four series for Disney Plus and two films for the big screen. With only three months left in the year, the studio still has Eternals, Spider-Man: No Way Home, and Hawkeye locked and loaded for release.

Of course, this is just the tip of the iceberg for the studio as producer Victoria Alonso revealed that Marvel is spearheading 31 projects at the moment. During a speaking engagement at “El Caecito” (via 221 Radio) which saw Alonso discussing Marvel Studios’ output, the interviewer mentioned how they have some 35 projects in development. Alonso jokingly revealed that the studio only had 31 projects in development.

31 is quite the whopping number but a huge chunk of the projects in development are ones we’re already aware of. Most of the projects are Disney Plus series like Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight, Secret Invasion, and the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special. There are also half a dozen Marvel Studios movies that are dated but don’t have any information attached to them such as Untitled Marvel Movie 4, which is set to hit cinemas on February 16, 2024.

One of Marvel’s upcoming 31 projects is Chloe Zhao’s Eternals. Here is the synopsis for Eternals:

“When monstrous creatures called the Deviants, long thought lost to history, mysteriously return, the Eternals are forced to reunite in order to defend humanity once again.”

Chloé Zhao directed Eternals from a script written by Matthew and Ryan Firpo. The cast of the Marvel Studios project includes Gemma Chan as Sersi, Kit Harington as Dane Whitman, Richard Madden as Ikaris, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Salma Hayek as Ajak, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Don Lee as Gilgamesh, Angelina Jolie as Thena, and Barry Keoghan as Druig.

Eternals is set to hit theaters on November 5, 2021. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding Kumail Nanjiani’s Kingo, the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
