Rapper Eminem is set to release a new single for Marvel and Sony’s Venom: Let There Be Carnage.
Back when Tom Hardy’s Venom was released in 2018, rapper Eminem dropped a single for the film aptly titled “Venom”. The single, which played during the film’s end credits, briefly touched upon the film’s themes. Eminem also released a music video for the song which featured several random civilians becoming possessed by a symbiote that turned them into an angry Eminem. The music video racked up over half a billion views, becoming just as successful in its own right as the movie.
Now, with Venom: Let There Be Carnage set to release this Friday, the Oscar and Grammy-winning rapper has teased a sequel single. Eminem took to Twitter to share a brief snippet of the instrumental, as well as revealing that frequent collaborator Skylar Grey will be joining him on the track alongside Polo G, and Mozzy.
The single is expected to release this Friday at midnight to coincide with the release of Venom: Let There Be Carnage. It’s great to see that Eminem is back for a single as the first single’s popularity did feed into the public perception of the first film. Only time will tell if Eminem’s latest effort enters the zeitgeist as prominently as the first single.
Here is the synopsis for Sony’s first Venom film:
“The evolution story of Marvel’s most enigmatic, complex and badass character – Venom! Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) is a broken man after he loses everything including his job and fiancée. Just when his life is at its lowest, he becomes host to an alien symbiote which results in extraordinary superpowers – transforming him into Venom. Will these powers be enough for this new lethal protector to defeat great evil forces, especially against the far stronger and more weaponized symbiote rival, Riot?”
Directed by Ruben Fleischer from a script written by Jeff Pinkner & Scott Rosenberg and Kelly Marcel, Venom stars Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, Scott Haze, Reid Scott, Jenny Slate, Ron Cephas Jones, and Woody Harrelson.
Venom is available on Digital HD, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD, while Andy Serkis’ Let There Be Carnage will hit theaters on October 1.
