Imagine you’re a magician, like David Copperfield, Penn & Teller, or Burt Wonderstone. Now assume that you’re good at what you do, and everyone adores you except your arch nemesis, who uses black magic to trap you inside a cursed mirror. The only way to escape is to use all the tricks at your disposal to defeat legions of wicked minions and challenging bosses to break free from the curse placed on you and your assistants.
That’s the story of Dandy Ace. Trapped in this cursed mirror by the evil Lele the Green-Eyed Magician (as in, the color of envy, get it?), you and your assistants Jenny Jenny and Jolly Jolly must make your way through the labyrinthine and procedurally generated landscapes of the mirror, fighting back hordes of Lele’s monsters. Along the way, you’ll collect dozens of magic cards and powerful trinkets to amp up your magical arsenal – and to help you defeat the mirror’s very large and in-charge bosses.
Dandy Ace is immensely replayable by its roguelike nature – you’ll carry over progression from upgrades when you die, but you’ll have to start from the beginning of the mirror when you do. There are several difficulty levels, dozens of cards, and upgrades to collect, and even a New Game Plus mode to test your skills with when you beat the game.
While battling your way through Lele’s ever changing palace, the unique skill system allows you to combine different cards with more than a thousand possibilities, each with their own playstyles and powers. Every run provides new challenges and combinations for players to explore as they progress closer to Lele.
Dandy Ace is available now for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Windows 10, and with Xbox Game Pass. We can’t wait to see what you think… and don’t forget to eat as many cupcakes as you can. You’re going to need them.
