A brand new TV spot for Venom: Let There Be Carnage is filled with new footage of Woody Harrelson’s serial killer Cletus Kasady.
One of the most inspired superhero casting choices in the last few years has to be Woody Harrelson being brought in to star as Carnage for the Venom sequel. Originally teased at the end of the first film, Harrelson is back in the sequel as the serial killer Cletus Kasady whose body becomes the host for the blood-red symbiote Carnage.
Venom: Let There Be Carnage will focus on Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock investigating Woody Harrelson’s nefarious Cletus Kasady and eventually stopping him from causing massive destruction as Carnage. A brand new television spot highlights Eddie Brock’s investigation into Kasady, as well as new footage of Harrelson harassing a store clerk and dancing.
The new TV spot shows Cletus Kasady harassing and likely killing a store clerk, as well as the character maniacally dancing on prison grounds. Viewers also get a brief new look at Naomie Harris’ Shriek, who will be Kasady’s love interest. The spot also has Woody Harrelson’s character telling Eddie Brock that “Every decision has consequences.” It’s unclear at this point what exactly Kasady is discussing, but it’s likely that Brock’s investigation into the serial killer is what allows Carnage to join Kasady’s body.
Here is the synopsis for Sony’s first Venom film:
The evolution story of Marvel’s most enigmatic, complex and badass character – Venom! Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) is a broken man after he loses everything including his job and fiancée. Just when his life is at its lowest, he becomes host to an alien symbiote which results in extraordinary superpowers – transforming him into Venom. Will these powers be enough for this new lethal protector to defeat great evil forces, especially against the far stronger and more weaponized symbiote rival, Riot?
Directed by Ruben Fleischer from a script written by Jeff Pinkner & Scott Rosenberg and Kelly Marcel, Venom stars Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, Scott Haze, Reid Scott, Jenny Slate, Ron Cephas Jones, and Woody Harrelson.
Venom is available on Digital HD, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD, while Let There Be Carnage will hit theaters on October 1. Stay tuned for all the latest news on the franchise’s future, and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
