Daredevil star Vincent D’Onofrio has spoken out the rumors that he would be returning to the role of Kingpin for the upcoming Hawkeye series on Disney Plus.
Earlier this month the first trailer for the upcoming Disney Plus series, Hawkeye was revealed. Not long after, Daredevil star Vincent D’Onofrio started posting a series of what some considered to be cryptic Tweets that lead some to believe that he might be returning to the role of Kingpin for the series. Charlie Cox is already rumored to be appearing in Spider-Man: No Way Home so it’s not illogical to assume that Kingpin, who was originally a Spider-Man antagonist, could be making his way to the Marvel Cinematic Universe once again. Sadly, it doesn’t look like the character will be appearing in Hawkeye.
The character had previously appeared in all three seasons of Daredevil and is widely considering the crowning achievement in the Marvel Netflix series. Since the series was canceled many have been eager to see the actor return to the role. Unfortunately, the actor has made it clear this will not be happening in the upcoming Disney Plus series. In a recent post, Vincent D’Onofrio made it clear that his cryptic posts didn’t actually mean anything but appreciated the fandom because of how much he loved playing the character of Kingpin:
Here’s the synopsis for Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye.
Former Avenger Clint Barton has a seemingly simple mission: get back to his family for Christmas. Possible? Maybe with the help of Kate Bishop, a 22-year-old archer with dreams of becoming a Super Hero. The two are forced to work together when a presence from Barton’s past threatens to derail far more than the festive spirit.
Hawkeye stars Jeremy Renner, Hailee Steinfeld, Vera Farmiga, Fra Fee, Tony Dalton, Brian d’Arcy James, and Alaqua Cox. Florence Pugh is expected to return in her Black Widow role.
Hawkeye is set to premiere on November 24, exclusively on Disney Plus. Stay tuned for all the latest news on Vincent D’Onofrio’s potential return as Kingpin and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
