The official synopsis for Jeremy Renner and Disney Plus’ long-awaited Hawkeye series has been revealed.
Marvel Studios dropped the first official trailer for Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye earlier today. The first look at the series was surprisingly comedic in nature and teased Clint Barton sharing a positive attitude with his loved ones – a far cry from the last time we saw him in Avengers: Endgame. Interestingly enough, the series is set during Christmas time. The trailer also saw Barton meeting up Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop, who appears to be a super-fan of Hawkeye’s. A core component of the series is set to be Renner’s character trying to spend Christmas day with his family, all the while juggling some nefarious baddies.
Beyond that, the trailer didn’t get much of an indication as to what the series is really about or who the big bad is. Luckily, Disney Plus has released the official synopsis for Hawkeye, giving us a better indication of what we can expect this Holiday season.
Former Avenger Clint Barton has a seemingly simple mission: get back to his family for Christmas. Possible? Maybe with the help of Kate Bishop, a 22-year-old archer with dreams of becoming a Super Hero. The two are forced to work together when a presence from Barton’s past threatens to derail far more than the festive spirit.
What’s most interesting is that Clint is referred to as a former Avenger. Prior to Avengers: Endgame, Barton had seemingly retired, only to be brought back in to reverse the Snap. With the Blip now over, it’s in line with the character to ditch the superhero team and focus on his family.

The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios’ grand conclusion to twenty-two films, “Avengers: Endgame.”

Avengers: Endgame is available on Digital HD, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD. Hawkeye is set to premiere on November 24th, exclusively on Disney Plus.
