Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds shared some humorous predictions for the new Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) slate.
Earlier this week, Disney announced that four new MCU films were set to be released in 2024. Naturally, speculation amongst fans occurred as to what the titles for those films would be, given that some confirmed films in development from Marvel Studios are still undated. Some are willing to bet that among the untitled MCU films set for such release dates, we will be seeing Ryan Reynolds return for Deadpool 3, Fantastic Four, Blade, a fourth Captain America film starring Anthony Mackie in the titular role, and perhaps a sequel to Shang-Chi.
In a reply to comicbook.com’s Brandon Davis on Twitter, Ryan Reynolds shared his so-called “predictions” on what some of the films on the upcoming MCU slate would be. In true Deadpool fashion, these answers are truly sarcastic:
Following Disney’s acquisition of 21st Century Fox, Deadpool, the X-Men and Fantastic Four have officially joined Marvel Studios and will be implemented in the MCU canon, with Deadpool 3 and Fantastic Four currently in development. Given Ryan Reynolds’ enthusiasm for the franchise exhibited through social media, it will be exciting to see how he will be involved in the MCU moving forward. After all, the introduction of the Multiverse adds plenty of exciting new possibilities.
Ryan Reynolds was last seen in Deadpool 2. Here is the synopsis:
After surviving a near fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfill his dream of becoming Mayberry’s hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste. Searching to regain his spice for life, as well as a flux capacitor, Wade must battle ninjas, the yakuza, and a pack of sexually aggressive canines, as he journeys around the world to discover the importance of family, friendship, and flavor – finding a new taste for adventure and earning the coveted coffee mug title of World’s Best Lover.
Directed by David Leitch from a script written by Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick & Ryan Reynolds, the film stars Ryan Reynolds, Josh Brolin, Morena Baccarin, Julian Dennison, Zazie Beetz, T.J. Miller, Brianna Hildebrand, and Jack Kesy.
Deadpool 2 is now available on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-Ray, DVD, and Digital HD. Stay tuned for all the latest news on the upcoming third film and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
