Disney has committed to a theatrical release for Eternals and announced several release dates for 2024 Marvel films.
As we head into the fall, it was revealed recently that Halloween Kills will be available on Peacock alongside its theatrical release in October while several other films have faced delays. However, Sony moved up Venom: Let There Be Carnage after the box office success of Shang-Chi.
Prior to Shang-Chi‘s release, there were rumors that Eternals would get a Disney Plus release like Black Widow if the film underperformed over Labor Day weekend. Since that didn’t happen, Disney is committing to a theatrical window for 45-days with Eternals and the rest of their 2021 films. This all comes after a very recent report claimed Disney wasn’t sending Eternals to streaming.
Meanwhile, Disney also dated several future unannounced Marvel films for February 16, 2024, May 3, 2024, July 26, 2024, and November 8, 2024. Back in May, Disney pushed back two Marvel films that are slated for 2023.
Here is the synopsis for Chloe Zhao’s Eternals:
“When monstrous creatures called the Deviants, long thought lost to history, mysteriously return, the Eternals are forced to reunite in order to defend humanity once again.”
Chloé Zhao is directing Eternals from a script written by Matthew and Ryan Firpo. The cast of the Marvel Studios project includes Gemma Chan as Sersi, Kit Harington as Dane Whitman, Richard Madden as Ikaris, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Salma Hayek as Ajak, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Don Lee as Gilgamesh, Angelina Jolie as Thena, and Barry Keoghan as Druig.
Eternals is set to hit theaters on November 5, 2021. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
