Andrew Garfield has reiterated that he will not be showing up in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Many beloved characters are rumored to be in Spider-Man: No Way Home, with Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Charlie Cox at the top of that list. The first No Way Home trailer didn’t feature any of them but did tease two villains from the Sam Raimi trilogy.
With Andrew Garfield promoting The Eyes of Tammy Faye, the Academy Award-nominated actor is getting asked about Spider-Man: No Way Home once again, just like Daredevil actor Charlie Cox. Here’s what Garfield recently told Variety:
“I understand why people are freaking out about the concept of that because I’m a fan as well. You can’t help but imagine scenes and moments of ‘Oh, my God, how fucking cool would it be if they did that? But it’s important for me to say on the record that this is not something I’m aware I am involved in. But I know I’m not going to be able to say anything that will convince anyone that I don’t know what’s happening. No matter what I say, I’m fucked. It’s either going to be really disappointing for people or it’s going to be really exciting.”
Here is the synopsis for Spider-Man: No Way Home:
“For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero is unmasked and no longer able to separate his normal life from the high-stakes of being a Super Hero. When he asks for help from Doctor Strange the stakes become even more dangerous, forcing him to discover what it truly means to be Spider-Man.”
Directed by Jon Watts from a script written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, Spider-Man: No Way Home stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jon Favreau, Jacob Batalon, Marisa Tomei, J.B. Smoove, Benedict Wong, Alfred Molina, Jamie Foxx, Tony Revolori and J.K. Simmons.
