‘Spider-Man 3′: Donna Murphy Denies Return As Doctor Octopus’ Wife

Donna Murphy seems to have denied that she won’t be returning as Doctor Octopus’ wife in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

The Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer finally confirmed that the rumors that suggested villains from previous non-Marvel Cinematic Universe films would be popping up to taunt Peter Parker. As the trailer came to a ceremonious close, a de-aged Alfred Molina appeared as Doctor Octopus, casually announcing his return with a “Hello Peter.”

Now that we know Doctor Octopus from Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 2 is set to return, fans have been wondering if Mr. Octopus’ better half would be joining him in No Way Home. In case you don’t remember, Donna Murphy starred as Rosalie, Otto Octavius’ assistant. When Octavius failed to control the power of a man-made sun, his wife perished, which lead to Octavius spiraling. Well, Rosalie actress has denied her involvement in the next Spider-Man film with a cheeky response on Twitter.

Really? Did I miss that call from my manager ? Xo Rosie ? #SpiderManNoWayHome https://t.co/fZjb5y6UuI

Now, in Spider-Man 2, Doctor Octopus died himself, but somehow he’s returning in No Way Home. So technically, Donna Murphy could theoretically return as Doctor Octopus’ wife – we just don’t know-how. Of course, Murphy could also just be lying in a bid to escape Kevin Feige’s wrath.

Here is the synopsis for Spider-Man: No Way Home:

“For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero is unmasked and no longer able to separate his normal life from the high-stakes of being a Super Hero. When he asks for help from Doctor Strange the stakes become even more dangerous, forcing him to discover what it truly means to be Spider-Man.”

Directed by Jon Watts from a script written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, Spider-Man: No Way Home stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jon Favreau, Jacob Batalon, Marisa Tomei, J.B. Smoove, Benedict Wong, Alfred Molina, Jamie Foxx, Tony Revolori and J.K. Simmons.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is currently set to be released on December 17, 2021. Stay tuned for all the latest news on the upcoming film and the rest of the MCU, and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
