Greetings sharks! For the past year, the team here at Tripwire and I have been hard at work on this wild DLC idea and I’m extremely excited to bring this to players all over the world.
Maneater: Truth Quest follows Maneater’s narrator, Trip Westhaven, as he descends into madness after discovering a secret military base off the coast of Port Clovis. It’s up to you, the titular shark, to help Trip get to the bottom of what’s really going on behind the scenes. Is this a true government conspiracy? Has Trip lost his marbles? You’ll have to play to find out.
Gameplay wise, we’ve built tons of new ways to eat, explore, and evolve in the game that approach the original mechanics in new and interesting ways. In my opinion, they’re totally jaw-some.
Without further ado, here are five jaw-some new features in Maneater: Truth Quest!
The Prologue
Even if you haven’t purchased the DLC, there’s still content coming your way! If you boot up Maneater today, you’ll notice a short intro episode in your quest log, which helps set the stage for the events of Truth Quest.
Atomic Evolution
Featured heavily in the key art for Truth Quest, this brand new Hammerhead inspired evolution packs an otherworldly punch and adds all sorts of new abilities to the main shark. Including a radioactive blast that emerges from the shark’s mouth! Dr. Evil would be so proud.
Plover Island
A military island steeped in mystery, Plover Island is the object of Trip Westhaven’s obsession. Is there truly evidence of extraterrestrials here? Are wildlife being manipulated? Did we actually land on the moon back in ‘69? Or is Trip just treading water?
Hidden Objectives
Scattered around the new Plover Island military compound and the original Port Clovis are “Questers”; or fans of Trip Westhaven’s video series. If you’re observant enough to find them, they’ll provide some great rewards. Just remember – tin foil – that is all.
New Objective Types
Are you ready to put your Maneater mastery to the test? The “Failure to Communicate” and “Time Trial” have been designed to do just that! We’ve designed these two new objectives to truly challenge your ability to maneuver both in and out of combat.
I’m super proud to say that Maneater: Truth Quest is out now on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S! If you’d like to connect with me, or anyone on the team here at Tripwire, make sure to follow us on Twitter, head on over to the Tripwire forums, or join the Maneater Discord Server. Happy questing!
