New set photos from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever tease a chase scene with Shuri and Okoye.
Principal photography on Marvel Studios’ upcoming sequel Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is underway, and the film is looking to carry on the legacy of the late Chadwick Boseman, likely with a new character taking over the mantle given that during Disney Investor Day last December, Kevin Feige confirmed that they would not be recasting T’Challa. Some have speculated that T’Challa’s sister Shuri (Letitia Wright) or Okoye (Danai Gurira) should take over, but as of right now, it is unknown who will be the new Black Panther.
In the mean time, new set photos from the set of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever show off a new chase scene. In these photos we see a stunt double for Letitia Wright’s Shuri riding a motorcycle. We also see photos of what looks like a stunt double for Danai Gurira’s Okoye driving a red Dodge Charger. You can check out the set photos down below:
Letitia Wright’s Shuri and Danai Gurira’s Okoye will be joined by returning cast members Lupita Nyong’o, Martin Freeman, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett, Michaela Coel and Dominique Thorne. Ryan Coogler returns to the director’s chair from a script he co-wrote with Robert Cole.
Here is the synopsis for the first Black Panther film:
After the death of his father, the king of Wakanda, young T’Challa returns home to the isolated high-tech African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king. But when a powerful enemy reappears, T’Challa’s mettle as king – and Black Panther – is tested when he’s drawn into a formidable conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk. Faced with treachery and danger, he must release the full power of Black Panther to defeat his foes and secure the safety of his people and their way of life.
Directed by Ryan Coogler, the film stars Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, and Andy Serkis.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will hit theaters on July 8, 2022. Stay tuned for all the latest news on the future of Shuri and Okoye in the MCU, and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
