Sony is reportedly keeping Tom Hardy’s Venom: Let There Be Carnage in October after murmurs of another delay.
Every film slated for the fall isn’t a guarantee with the spread of the delta variant. A report from Tuesday alluded to Sony pushing back the Tom Hardy-led Venom: Let There Be Carnage to Morbius‘ January 2022 spot.
However, it appears Venom: Let There Be Carnage is staying put in October 2021 for now, according to Variety’s insiders. Let There Be Carnage was originally scheduled to hit theaters in October of last year and has faced several release date delays amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The upcoming Venom sequel directed by Andy Serkis will finally see Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock battle Woody Harrelson’s Cletus Kasady after becoming the iconic comic book villain, Carnage. Let There Be Carnage will also feature Naomie Harris as Kasady’s love interest, Shriek.

The evolution story of Marvel’s most enigmatic, complex and badass character – Venom! Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) is a broken man after he loses everything including his job and fiancée. Just when his life is at its lowest, he becomes host to an alien symbiote which results in extraordinary superpowers – transforming him into Venom. Will these powers be enough for this new lethal protector to defeat great evil forces, especially against the far stronger and more weaponized symbiote rival, Riot?
Directed by Ruben Fleischer from a script written by Jeff Pinkner & Scott Rosenberg and Kelly Marcel, Venom stars Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, Scott Haze, Reid Scott, Jenny Slate, Ron Cephas Jones, and Woody Harrelson.
Venom is available on Digital HD, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD, while Let There Be Carnage will hit theaters on October 15.
