There’s no doubt that this summer has lacked a certain oomph. From the dismal weather (except for those three days of sunshine) to extortionate holiday prices in the UK, I think I can speak for everyone when I say good riddance, British summer. While I haven’t had as much wear out of my Arizona Love leopard-print sandals as I would have liked, there’s a bright fashion spot on the horizon: knitwear. And what an offering there is already available to us on the high street.
If you’re a regular reader of Who What Wear, you’ll know that we’ve already pegged this Arket Breton sweater as being a front runner for one of the major pieces of knitwear for the season. But there are oh so many more jumpers, cardigans and vests that we need to bring to your attention. Mango has a selection of cute, printed cardigans as well as beige and striped sweaters that are ultimate wardrobe classics. Over at H&M, there’s affordable cashmere, collared ribbed cardigans and fluffy sweaters that are super cosy. But we can’t leave out Arket either, which has a pink crochet piece that I honestly can’t stop thinking about and an asymmetric-neck knit that will look incredible with jeans and heels.
But if that’s not enough, I’ve looked through even more of the high-street autumn knitwear edits and discovered some fantastic pieces. Uterqüe, & Other Stories, Weekday, COS, Zara and Monki have also delivered this season. Keep scrolling to see our ultimate high-street autumn knitwear edit.
