Boba Fett’s spaceship has officially been renamed in the Star Wars canon.
Earlier this year it was revealed that Star Wars would be changing Boba Fett’s spaceship name to something less innocuous as Slave I. The iconic ship first debuted in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and has since become a permanent fixture in the franchise, spawning thousands of toys and action figures. It was unclear at the time what Boba Fett’s ship would be renamed to but it looks Star Wars has finally landed on a new, more suitable name.
Thanks to a new comic book from Marvel titled Star Wars: War of the Bounty Hunters, the new name for Boba Fett’s ship has been revealed (via Slashgear). The comic takes place after Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and focuses on the bounty hunter as he tries to bring Han Solo’s carbonite body back to Jabba the Hutt. In a variant cover for the comic that details the various vehicles seen in the War of the Bounty Hunters comic, Fett’s new ship is revealed as Firespray. An official Star Wars press release also corroborates this information, confirming that Slave I is now Firespray.
