Yassir Lester will serve as the showrunner for Marvel Studios’ upcoming Armor Wars series starring Don Cheadle.
Lots of Disney Plus shows are in the works at Marvel Studios, and several were unveiled during Disney’s Investor Day. Two of the upcoming shows will play in the Iron Man corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. One of them is Iron Heart, which will star Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams with the character debuting in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
The other will focus on Don Cheadle’s War Machine, inspired by the Armor Wars comic book storyline. Both shows are a little ways away, but the Armor Wars series just got a big update. Deadline reports Black Monday‘s Yassir Lester will reunite with Cheadle and be the head writer on Armor Wars as the show goes into development over at Marvel Studios.
Don Cheadle’s James Rhodes last appeared in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. Here is the plot synopsis for the series:
Following the events of “Avengers: Endgame,” Sam Wilson/Falcon (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) team up in a global adventure that tests their abilities—and their patience—in Marvel Studios’ “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.”
Directed by Kari Skogland from scripts written by showrunner Malcolm Spellman and Derek Kolstad, the series stars Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson / Falcon, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes / The Winter Soldier, Emily VanCamp as Sharon Carter, Daniel Brühl as Baron Helmut Zemo, and Wyatt Russell as John Walker / U.S. Agent. Actors Desmond Chiam, Miki Ishikawa, Noah Mills, and Carl Lumbly have also been cast.
Every episode of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is available on Disney Plus. Stay tuned for all the latest news on Armor Wars and the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. You can also subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
