The gates of Hell are open. Starting today at 10:00 a.m. PDT, players on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S will have the opportunity to participate in the Diablo II: Resurrected open beta test. Whether you’re a longtime fan or a new player, you and your friends will have the opportunity to face the denizens of the Burning Hells across Sanctuary in Act I and Act II of the game (Xbox Live Gold is not required to play during the open beta weekend).
Don’t miss this chance. The open beta weekend will run until August 23 at 10:00 a.m. PDT. To download and play the open beta, simply go to the Diablo II: Resurrected Xbox Store page.
Let’s dive into what content will be playable in the open beta.
Classes
Players who log in will be able to create a character based on five different classes: the Amazon, Barbarian, Sorceress, Druid, and Paladin. Each of these classes has unique skills and playing styles. Two additional classes, the Assassin and Necromancer, are unavailable in the Open Beta, but will be included in the game at launch.
The Amazon wields a javelin and bow, dodging killing blow with superhuman agility. She uses magic prowess to enhance her martial abilities, which makes her a formidable foe.
The Barbarian is a mighty berserker, molded by the hostile wildernesses of Sanctuary. He uses devastating melee attacks and war cries to assist his allies—or incite terror in his enemies.
The Sorceress is the master of the elements, devoting her entire purpose to the pursuit of magical power. She uses fire, cold, and lightning spells to eliminate all obstacles.
The Druid is the ultimate survivor, embracing the beast within to rule over the wilds. He uses shapeshifting magic to transform into vicious animals or commands nature’s creatures in combat.
The Paladin is a crusader of faith, a battle-ready devotee of the light sworn to protect against the darkness. He uses holy magic to purge heretics and protective enchantments to heal his allies.
Multiplayer Details
The open beta is multiplayer for up to 8 players. Players can group up with friends to slay demons cooperatively, and will also have the opportunity to duel each other in PvP combat. Both Act I: The Sightless Eye and Act II: The Secret of Vizjerei will be fully playable in the open beta, and players will be able to experience the fully remade Act I & II cinematics in the test.
