Rupert Gregson-Williams Returning To Score ‘Aquaman 2’

James Wan’s Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will bring back the first film’s composer, Rupert Gregson-Williams.

The DC Extended Universe has had no shortage of memorable film scores, largely due to Hans Zimmer. Composer Rupert Gregson-Williams has delivered some great scores as well for DC with his work on the first Wonder Woman and Aquaman solo outings.

Rupert Gregson-Williams didn’t return to score Wonder Woman 1984 since Hans Zimmer took over composing duties. Still, Gregson-Williams confirmed his return for James Wan’s Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom on an episode of Score: The Podcast. The upcoming Aquaman sequel is currently filming in the United Kingdom.

Here is the synopsis for the first Aquaman film:

From Warner Bros. Pictures and director James Wan comes an action-packed adventure that spans the vast, visually breathtaking underwater world of the seven seas, “Aquaman,” starring Jason Momoa in the title role. The film reveals the origin story of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime—one that will not only force him to face who he really is, but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be… a king.

Directed by James Wan, Aquaman stars Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry, Amber Heard as Mera, Willem Dafoe as Vulko, Patrick Wilson as Orm / Ocean Master, Dolph Lundgren as Nereus, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, Ludi Lin as Captain Murk, and Temuera Morrison as Tom Curry.

Aquaman is available on Digital HD, 4K UHD Combo Pack, Blu-ray, and DVD. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will hit theaters on December 16, 2022.
