New concept art from Loki gives us our more detailed look yet at Frog Thor.
Tom Hiddleston’s Loki series was filled to the brim with easter eggs and references that would make even the most hardcore Marvel fans giddy. The series also put focus on variants, alternate, deviant versions of a character that didn’t adhere to their set out path. While most of the series was focused on Loki’s various deviants, there was a brief cameo from a Thor variant… kind of.
In the fifth episode of Loki, Frog Thor was briefly seen trying to escape a jar so he could grab ahold of Mjolnir. During Thor: Ragnarok, it was mentioned that Loki had turned his brother into a frog. In fact, there was a scene shot for the first episode that would have shown Loki interacting with Frog Thor, but it was ultimately cut to keep the plot going.
While we never got a full-fledged look at the character, Marvel concept artist Ryan Meinerding has blessed fans by sharing a highly detailed image of Frog Thor in action, giving us our best look yet at the character.
The best part about this concept art is how seriously Frog Thor seems to take himself. His entire aura is filled with self-assuredness as he valiantly holds Mjolnir. Hopefully, the second season of Loki shows Frog Thor in action.
