According to a recent report, Sony might push Tom Hardy’s Venom: Let There Be Carnage release date back again.
The back half of 2021 is packed with blockbusters that have been patiently waiting in the wings due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The spread of the Delta variant has brought back the return of release date shifts, with Tom Hardy’s Venom: Let There Be Carnage recently moving from September to October.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Venom: Let There Be Carnage could soon see another new release date. With Venom 2‘s recent delay, some online speculate Spider-Man: No Way Home might follow suit. Tom Hardy’s upcoming Venom sequel was originally slated to hit theaters in October of last year before the COVID-19 pandemic hit and has seen three delays since.
Here is the synopsis for Sony’s first Venom film:
The evolution story of Marvel’s most enigmatic, complex and badass character – Venom! Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) is a broken man after he loses everything including his job and fiancée. Just when his life is at its lowest, he becomes host to an alien symbiote which results in extraordinary superpowers – transforming him into Venom. Will these powers be enough for this new lethal protector to defeat great evil forces, especially against the far stronger and more weaponized symbiote rival, Riot?
Directed by Ruben Fleischer from a script written by Jeff Pinkner & Scott Rosenberg and Kelly Marcel, Venom stars Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, Scott Haze, Reid Scott, Jenny Slate, Ron Cephas Jones, and Woody Harrelson.
