Loki star Owen Wilson says that he received an ominous text after he revealed that Mobius has a mustache.
Marvel Studios is known throughout Hollywood for having some of the strictest protocols when it comes to revealing plot and production details. Their actors are also expected to maintain the same level of rigorous secrecy behind the camera, ensuring that no details other than what’s officially revealed can be discussed. Of course, things don’t always go as planned, and Marvel has had numerous slip-ups, with the most recent being Alfred Molina revealing that he’s returning as Doctor Octopus in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Well, thanks to Loki star Owen Wilson, we might now know how Marvel reprimands those who slip up.
In an interview with Esquire, Owen Wilson was asked about Marvel’s notorious secrecy policy. The Loki star revealed that he received an ominous text, likely from Marvel’s Kevin Feige, as soon as he revealed that Mobius has a mustache.
“I let it slip I had a moustache for Mobius, I got an ominous text saying ‘Strike 1’. I don’t know who that was, we think it might have been Kevin Feige using a burner phone but that wasn’t confirmed.”
It’s almost baffling how revealing something as inconsequential as Mobius’ facial hair could land Owen Wilson in hot water. Still, it is a pretty funny experience, and the person behind the text was likely just making fun of Marvel’s uber-strict policy. It’s good to know that Marvel can find some good humor in their infamous reputation.
