These 6 Autumn Trends Are So Good Influencers Are Already Wearing Them

Yesterday, when I stepped outside, the chill and moisture in the air felt distinctly like autumn. My gut reaction? Excitement. I love autumn, I love dressing for autumn, and now, it feels like I can genuinely start planning my outfits for the upcoming season. You might think I’m unnecessarily organised. After all, we still have at least a few weeks of summer left. But after my latest Instagram scroll, it would appear I’m actually late to the party, as many of my favourite influencers are already wearing autumn trends now.

Why, I hear you ask, would they do such a thing? It probably has something to do with the fact that the autumn 2021 trends are some of the most fun to wear that we’ve seen in a long while. Autumn fashion can often be quite serious, dominated by a moody colour palette and sharp tailoring. If you’re a minimalist, fear not—there’s still plenty of that to go around, but some of the biggest, overarching looks of the season err on the bold, playful side.

Bright hues, high-octane embellishments and supersize silhouettes are just some of the stylish treats autumn has in store, which influencers are already finding impossible to resist. Scroll on to see six examples of influencers wearing autumn trends early.

This is the year we all fell in love with bold colours again—including the creative directors at top fashion houses. The A/W 21 runways were awash with highlighter shades, the apparent mantra being the brighter, the better.

And now, saturated shades are dominating our feeds and new-in sections alike. Tap into the trend with a bright handbag, or go all out with a pair of trousers matched with an equally eye-catching top.

Straight-leg is, perhaps, still the jeans style preferred by most fashion types, but even those with streamlined aesthetics have found themselves gravitating towards wider-leg denim of late.

Comfy and easy to style, baggy denim is sticking around for autumn, with the likes of Celine and ACNE Studios also getting in on the action. I, however, think the high street has this denim trend down.

Cut-outs are always somewhere on the style agenda, but this autumn, they’re a top priority. The sleekest way to wear the look is by way of a black dress, of which there are a plethora of options to choose from.

That said, separates like a skirt or a top will also allow you to tap into the trend without having to fully commit.

We told you the trends for autumn 2021 were bold, and what’s more in-your-face than overtly logoed pieces. This trend feels so very ’90s (as do many this season), with designers showing top-to-toe monogrammed looks on the runways.

However, if all-over logo prints aren’t your thing, you can still nod to the trend with a single item with obvious branding, such as Emili Sindlev’s Prada top.

Okay, so this is a trend that’s appeared over the course of the last couple of autumn seasons, but quilted puffer coats are back again. So if you’ve already bought one, it was a sound investment.

This season’s take on the puffer coat, however, is more statement than we’ve seen before. Hues are brighter, and silhouettes more striking.

Having been denied one party season, the fashion set is looking to make up for lost time. While you might not feel ready to dust off your sequin dresses just yet, shoes are the ultimate fast-track to getting in the party mood.

Shoes by Mach & Mach and Amina Muaddi have been surprising best sellers throughout lockdown and have become cult items in their own right. Get them while you can. However, if your budget doesn’t quite stretch, I’m also impressed by Uterqüe’s more affordable embellished-shoe offering.
