The upcoming Alien series from Legion creator Noah Hawley for FX is eyeing a 2023 release date.
The Alien franchise is taking a break from the big screen and heading to the small screen with Legion creator Noah Hawley at the helm. It was recently revealed that the upcoming series will take place on Earth and not be a Ripley story.
During FX’s recent TCA presentation, president John Landgraf offered an update on the upcoming Alien series and when it will premiere:
“It’s a really big world-building exercise. Noah, with support from Scott Free, is certainly up to it. But you’re talking about designing and building sets and world-building is huge, so we’re well into it. We’re actually moving apace. You know, I have optimism, for example, that this show may well roll out in 2023. Probably will roll out in 2023, but we want to get it right.”
Here is the plot synopsis for the latest film in the franchise, Alien: Covenant:
Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created, with ALIEN: COVENANT, a new chapter in his groundbreaking ALIEN franchise. The crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world. When they uncover a threat beyond their imagination, they must attempt a harrowing escape.
Directed by Ridley Scott from a script written by John Logan and Dante Harper, the film stars Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup, Danny McBride, Demián Bichir, Carmen Ejogo, Amy Seimetz, Jussie Smollett, Callie Hernandez, Nathaniel Dean, Alexander England, and Benjamin Rigby.
