Johnny Depp has a won legal battle against his ex-wife and Aquaman star Amber Heard.
Amber Heard and Johnny Depp have been going through some tough legal battles over the last few years, with the courts mostly siding with the Aquaman star. Heard alleged that Depp used to consistently abuse her, which the courts found to be true on several occasions. While Depp may have lost a lot of the early legal battles, he seems to have found some solace in partially winning a case in the state of New York.
The case allowed Johnny Depp to gain access to documents that allow the Pirates of the Caribbean actor to know if Heard actually donated $7 million to the American Civil Liberties Union and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Heard said that she would donate the $7 million from the divorce settlement to the hospital in 2019. It’s unclear at this current junction if Heard donated the funds to the hospital, though we should find out in the coming weeks.
ACLU officials will release the documents that will allow Johnny Depp and the courts to know if the Aquaman star donated the divorce settlement to the hospital. Depp’s attorney Benjamin Chew told USA Today that the actor was pleased with the court’s decision. Amber Heard, who is currently filming the Aquaman sequel in the United Kingdom, has not released a statement as of this writing.
Amber Heard last appeared in the 2018 smash hit Aquaman. Here is the synopsis for the first film:
From Warner Bros. Pictures and director James Wan comes an action-packed adventure that spans the vast, visually breathtaking underwater world of the seven seas, “Aquaman,” starring Jason Momoa in the title role. The film reveals the origin story of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime—one that will not only force him to face who he really is, but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be… a king.
Directed by James Wan, Aquaman stars Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry, Amber Heard as Mera, Willem Dafoe as Vulko, Patrick Wilson as Orm / Ocean Master, Dolph Lundgren as Nereus, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, Ludi Lin as Captain Murk, and Temuera Morrison as Tom Curry.
