Marvel Studios’ fourth original Disney Plus series What If…? will be the MCU’s first foray into animation. With this new medium, viewers will have the chance to see reimagined stories and characters from the franchise, showcasing how different things could’ve been if some details in the established canon were changed.
An upcoming episode of What If…? will find viewers reacquainted with one Steve Rogers. The series will give fans a new version of Peggy Carter, in which she becomes Captain Carter, putting Steve Rogers in an alternate scenario in which he dons a new Iron Man suit.
A description from a Marvel Legends collectible packaging reveals why Steve Rogers is donning a new Iron Man suit in What If…?, and it sure sounds intriguing:
“In the universe you know, Steve Rogers was the first Avenger, Captain America. In this universe, Steve is injured and fights in ‘The Hydra Stomper,’ an Iron Man armor created by Howard Stark.”
