The first reactions to Marvel Studios’ new series What If…? have hit the web, and the response is quite positive.
What If…? is the fourth original series from Marvel Studios hitting Disney Plus in 2021. Following the releases of WandaVision, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier and Loki, the MCU looks to take yet another different turn with the medium of animation. The series, much like the comic book of the same name, reimagines characters and stories from the established MCU canon and showcases the many twists and turns that occur.
Early reactions to the first three episodes of Marvel Studios’ What If…? have hit the web, and it sounds like Marvel Studios’ first foray into animation is a big success:

The third one stretches the premise a little too thinly, but is still fun. However, #ChadwickBoseman‘s #StarLord episode is just…you’ll be blown away. It sure sounds like Marvel Studios chose the right comic book to base their first animated series on. After all, there are things in animation that can be executed in ways that can’t be fully-realized in live-action. The whole nature of What If…? revolves around scenarios that may be a bit too crazy to realize in live-action, and bringing these stories into the MCU in this medium is a great way to expand the canon.
It’s also quite poignant to hear such enthusiastic reactions to Chadwick Boseman’s episode in which T’Challa becomes Star-Lord. This episode will be the actor’s final role in the MCU, and to hear his voice one last time is sure to be an emotional experience for fans.
