Don’t hold your breath waiting for a trailer for James Mangold’s Indiana Jones 5.
Indiana Jones 5 is currently deep into production in the United Kingdom. Steven Spielberg has bowed out of the directorial chair and Logan director James Mangold has assumed the role. It’s unknown what treasure Harrison Ford’s archaeologist will be running after, though it has been confirmed that the film is set in the 1960s, specifically in the space-race years. As for what else is happening on Indy’s latest adventure? That’s up to speculators.
Many were under the impression that Disney would release the first trailer for Indiana Jones 5 this weekend to coincide with the release of Jungle Cruise. It’s not as far-fetched as you think considering the latest Disney theme-park-turned-film is another throwback adventure film filled with mystical artifacts and German villains. Well, it turns out that there’s no trailer release this weekend for Indy’s latest adventure, and there likely won’t be one for a while according to James Mangold.
When a fan asked the Indiana Jones 5 director if a trailer would be dropping this weekend, Mangold replied on Twitter with a resounding no. At the time of this writing, the Harrison Ford project is set to hit cinemas in less than a year – 364 days to be exact – meaning Mangold and the crew at Lucasfilm have tons of time to edit a trailer. Who knows, we might even see something as early as this December?
It isn’t, of course.
