‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ Set Video May Address T’Challa’s Fate

A video from the set of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever appears to hint at how the film will deal with the fate of Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa.

Ryan Coogler and Marvel Studios had a significant task ahead of them after Chadwick Boseman passed away. Close to a year since Boseman’s death and filming on the Black Panther sequel is happening in Georgia. A recent set video glimpsed on Twitter revealed one of the film’s locations, and it appears to be Wakanda’s throne room:

The biggest question heading into Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is how Ryan Coogler addresses T’Challa now that Chadwick Boseman has passed and with Marvel Studios not recasting the role. A fan on Twitter noted the columns glimpsed in the set video translate to something that may be a major clue:

MAJOR SPOILER for #BlackPantherWakandaForever!!!

From what I can make out in the video the last 4 columns combined read

“TCHALLA, OUR HERO, TWAS AN HONOR, WAKANDA FOREVER”

This isn’t the throne room, This is a place where T’Challa’s body is laid to rest. https://t.co/OUd9OEoOFN

Here is the synopsis for the first film:

After the death of his father, the king of Wakanda, young T’Challa returns home to the isolated high-tech African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king. But when a powerful enemy reappears, T’Challa’s mettle as king – and Black Panther – is tested when he’s drawn into a formidable conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk. Faced with treachery and danger, he must release the full power of Black Panther to defeat his foes and secure the safety of his people and their way of life.

Directed by Ryan Coogler, the film stars Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, and Andy Serkis.
