Stephen Dorff has gone back on his Black Widow comments.
Days before Black Widow came out, Blade actor Stephen Dorff had some pretty negative comments to say about Scarlett Johansson’s solo film. Dorff’s criticism of the film came from how he said that he would never consider making a film like Black Widow, stating that it looked like a “bad video game,” and that he felt bad for Johansson to have to make a movie like that. The entire interview was primarily focused on how Dorff was upset with the trajectory that mainstream Hollywood was going in.
However, in a recent interview with TMZ, the Blade star reneged on his comments, saying that they were taken out of context.
“Oh, I love Scarlett, I think that was taken a little bit out of context, but she’s a great actress. I heard she’s gonna be a mom, so I wish her the best, and she’s an old friend of mine so I felt bad about that comment. I think that guy in England got me in a moment where I was just s–t talking a little bit and I felt a little bad by it. It happens sometimes.”
The Blade star also mentioned to the outlet that he’s privately spoken to Scarlett Johansson about the entire situation. As for his thoughts on Black Widow? Stephen Dorff also confirmed that he hasn’t seen Black Widow yet but he is interested in seeing Matt Reeves’ The Batman.
“I don’t really go to those movies. I liked Iron Man, I like when they go a little darker, I love the Joker… I’m looking forward to the new Batman, Matt Reeves’ film.”
