We take sandals very seriously at Who What Wear. Considering they’ll be one of the major purchases you’ll make in the summer, we know we need to get it just right. Over the past year, we’ve documented the new designer labels that people have loved and the big fashion houses that continue to create stylish sandals. If I’m honest, there are so many genuinely cool and chic sandals around right now that it’s very hard to choose between them.
Do you want a pair of sliders with a bold logo? Or maybe you’re more of a minimalism lover who only wants simple straps and a basic colour. There are, of course, the cult labels that have built up quite a following (Amina Muaddi, we’re looking at you) as well as the brands that everyone seems to love, such as Chanel. So where do you go from here when there’s so much choice? We’ve collated a list of the best designer sandals that you’ll love now but will be excited to wear every summer. Keep scrolling to find your perfect pair.
Grece Ghanem wearing Bottega Veneta sandals. From Bottega Veneta’s woven sandals to Amina Muaddi’s Cinderella vibes as well as Arizona Love’s Trekky stylings and Fabrizio Viti’s pretty daisy sandals, these are the cult buys that Instagram can’t get enough of.
Alexis Foreman wearing sandals by Neous. Perhaps one of the biggest trends I’ve seen on Instagram this season is the rise of minimalist sandals. Sure, The Row’s chunky flip-flops were huge last season and still are, but there are so many more brands you need to discover.
Eni wearing Chanel sandals. Is there anyone who doesn’t love Chanel sandals? Whether they’re the double-strap CC logo pair or the espadrille versions as seen on Eni (above), there’s no doubt that Chanel has paved the way for the chunky-sandal trend.
Debora Brosa wearing Proenza Schouler x Birkenstock sandals. I don’t want to sound dramatic, but there isn’t a fashion editor I know who doesn’t want a pair of the Proenza Schouler x Birkenstock sandals. While these are definitely a chic pair of shoes, don’t dismiss Birkenstock’s collabs with both Rick Owens and Toogood. The German footwear brand has cornered the market in designer pairings, but Suicoke has partnered with Hay to create some super-cool sandals, too.
Zeena Shah wearing Gucci sandals. Logos don’t have to be scary. Take, for example, these Gucci sandals as seen on Zeena Shah. Fun and not too full-on either. Chloé, Balenciaga and Dior all have their own versions that are just as stylish.
Next up, these are the biggest autumn/winter 2021 fashion trends to know.
