‘The Flash’: New Set Photos Show Ezra Miller’s Barry Allen With A Mysterious Character

New set photos from The Flash tease a mysterious character standing alongside Ezra Miller’s Barry Allen.

Cameras are rolling for Ezra Miller’s The Flash down in the United Kingdom. Set to hit cinemas next year, the film is arguably the most anticipated film for many in the DC hive. Set to formally introduce the multiverse in the DC Extended Universe, The Flash will be an adaptation of the iconic Flashpoint storyline. Through the skeleton of the Flashpoint story, the film will bring in Michael Keaton’s Batman and Sasha Calle’s Supergirl, with the former expected to serve as a mentor of sorts to the young, inexperienced Barry Allen.

With production on The Flash underway, new set photos show Ezra Miller’s Barry Allen with a mysterious character. The character has the same styling as Barry and bears a striking resemblance to Miller. A set video of the duo surfaced last week. The resemblance between both actors had led many to assume that the other character is an alternate version of Allen. The mystery character can be seen with a CGI rod on their back, with a tracker of sorts hanging above their head. It’s entirely possible that Miller’s face will be placed over the mysterious actor’s in post-production, though that remains to be seen.

Directed by Andy Muschietti from a script written by Birds of Prey scribe Christina Hodson, The Flash stars Ezra Miller, Ben Affleck, Michael Keaton, Sasha Calle, Kiersey Clemons, Maribel Verdú, and Ron Livingston. The film will be inspired by the Flashpoint comic storyline, which followed The Flash as he navigated an altered DC Universe. Written by Geoff Johns and penciled by Andy Kuber, Flashpoint radically altered the status of the DC Comics universe and led to the launch of the New 52 titles. It is currently unknown how much inspiration the upcoming Ezra Miller film will take from the comic.
