Doctor Strange star Benedict Wong talked about joining the cast of Marvel Studios’ Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings.
The latest Shang-Chi trailer featured a major surprise at the end. Not only did we get the return of the Abomination, but fans also glimpsed that The Incredible Hulk villain was going up against Doctor Strange star Benedict Wong.
As it turns out, Benedict Wong told SyFy Wire he was super excited about Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings before he learned that he was going to be in it:
“When Shang-Chi was happening, I was so pleased that it was happening but I was a little kind of crestfallen I wasn’t a part of it… And then the call [from Marvel Studios] came. And I was like, ‘Yes!’”
Benedict Wong continued to share his excitement for joining the Marvel film and working with Tony Leung, specifically:
“You know, I’m super thrilled… And then to be sat at a table of Asian excellence, it was amazing. And I’m a big fan of all of those artists. Tony Leung (In the Mood for Love) is a massive idol of mine. So it’s been constant surprises, that’s what [the role of Wong] gives me.”
