Marvel’s WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier managed to rack up a combined 28 Primetime Emmy Nominations.
Marvel’s first year at the Emmys has proven to be a good one. Both their series WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier managed to score some major Emmy nominations, with 23 going to the witch-centric series and 5 going to the spy-thriller series. WandaVision has the second-highest amount of nominations, falling behind The Mandalorian and The Crown, which hold 24 nominations each.
WandaVision managed to nab an Outstanding Limited Series nomination, as well as Best Actor and Best Actress in a Limited Series for Paul Bettany and Elizabeth Olsen. Stand-out actor Kathryn Hahn was also nominated for a well-deserved Best Supporting Actress in a Limited Series. It’s also no surprise that Hahn’s catchy “Agatha All Along” was nominated for the Oustanding Original Music and Lyrics award as well. The Marvel series’ other nominations included Production Design for Half Hour Narrative Program, 3 Writing Limited Series nods, Casting, Fantasy/Sci-Fi Costumes, Directing, Two Single Camera Picture Editing, Period/Character Hairstyling, Main Title Design, Period/character non-prosthetic make-up, Original Dramatic Score, Main Title Theme, Music Supervision, Sound Editing and Mixing in a Limited Series and Special VFX.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier also nabbed five nominations, with the most coveted being Outstanding Guest Actor In A Drama Series for Don Cheadle. The Marvel series was also nominated for Outstanding Sound Editing For A Comedy Or Drama Series (One Hour), Outstanding Special Visual Effects In A Season Or A Movie, Outstanding Stunt Coordination, and Outstanding Stunt Performance.
