Deadpool has officially joined the MCU thanks to a promotional video for Ryan Reynolds’ Free Guy.
Ever since Disney purchased Fox, all eyes turned to how the Marvel Cinematic Universe would integrate Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool into the franchise. Theories about the multiverse and time travel might as well be thrown out the window, as the first official integration between Deadpool and the MCU has happened thanks to Ryan Reynolds… Free Guy?
To promote the upcoming Free Guy, Ryan Reynolds suited up as Deadpool once again alongside Taika Waititi, who also stars in the upcoming Fox-produced comedy. Here’s the kicker though: Taika Waititi is dressed up as Korg (from Thor: Ragnarok). The Free Guy promo video is filled with casual MCU references, making it abundantly clear that Deadpool has officially joined the franchise, at least in a promotional variety for now. It is known that Deadpool 3 will be produced as part of the MCU, but details are slim regarding when that film will kick off production.
The video was posted to the Deadpool actor’s official YouTube channel. You can check out the video below, which sees Deadpool and the MCU’s Korg parodying traditional geek-centric reaction channels found on all corners of the internet.
